WILLIAM SID MCMILLAN, age 90 years of Darlington, MD, died on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Stella Maris Hospice in Timonium, MD. He was the husband of Geraldine (Akers) McMillan with whom he would have celebrated their 63rd anniversary on the 17th day of August.
Born in Nathans Creek, NC. on October 12, 1922, he was a son of the late Thomas Jefferson and Susie (Miller) McMillan. Mr. McMillan was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII having served in the Sicily, Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, Rhineland and Central Europe Campaigns. He received the Purple Heart Medal and was a member of the Military Order of Purple Heart Association. Mr. McMillan was also a member of the American Legion Post #39 in Bel Air, Maryland.
Retiring in 1977, he worked as a carpenter for Local Union #101 for 31 years. In retirement, Mr. McMillan worked for his son, David at Harford Custom Coach Works. He was a member of Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Mr. McMillan enjoyed fishing and spending time with his loving family.

John McMillan and his wife, Frances of Darlington, MD
Carl McMillan, also of Darlington
Five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 19, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m.at Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church, 3135 Dublin Road, Street, MD 21154 where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 1 p.m.
His pastor, Reverend Tracy J. Duvall will officiate.
Interment will be in Bel Air Memorial Gardens with military honors presented by the American Legion Post #194 of Rising Sun, MD.
