William B. Widener III, age 47 years of Delta, PA died on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010 at the home of his sister after a lengthy illness.

Bill was born on Dec. 26, 1962 at Woodbury, New Jersey a son of the late William B. and Jean C. (Saline) Widener Jr. He was a member of Slate Ridge American Legion Post #182, Sons of the American Legion.

He enjoyed kayaking, camping and going to Cecil County Dragway where he raced his car and also racing at the Mason Dixon Dirt Drags.

He is survived by his sister and her husband- Eve Anne and James Holbrook of Street, MD.

2 nieces- his God-daughter Crystal J. Holbrook and Jennifer A. Holbrook both of Street, MD

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Parish, 1021 St. Mary's Road, Pylesville, MD with interment in the adjoining church cemetery.

Reverend A. Henry Kunkel, III will be the celebrant.

After the service everyone is invited to a luncheon at Slate Ridge American Legion Post #182, 2217 Whiteford Rd., Whiteford, MD.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to International Rett Syndrome Foundation, 4600 Devitt Drive, Cincinnati, Ohio 45246 or to the American Cancer Society - Harford Unit, PO Box 43025, Baltimore, MD 21236.

Pallbearers will be Jim Holbrook, Larry Holbrook, Jason Bobbitt, Rick Kohlbus, Chuck Mayes and Greg Burke
