RUTH ANN YOUNG, age 65 years, died on Saturday, September 29, 2012 in her home in Stewartstown, PA. She was the wife of William Darrell Young who died on September 14, 1996.

Born on November 21, 1946 in York, PA, she was a daughter of Ruth Ann (Kimmons) Linkous of Delta, PA and the late Paul Everett Linkous Sr. Retiring in 1999, Mrs. Young had worked as a foster care mother for 14 years with the Children’s Home of York and as a cardio monitor technician for 3 years at G.B.M.C. in Towson, MD. She was a member of the Community of Christ Church in New Park, PA, the Bel Air Moose Lodge #1952 and the Whiteford American Legion Post #182 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed going to the Delta Senior Center, collecting Betty Boop memorabilia, singing karaoke and collecting cookbooks

Ann was a Cub Master for Pack #803, was known to help anyone in need whether it be a friend or family and as a peacemaker.

William Daniel Young and Timothy Allen Young, both of Delta, PA

A stepdaughter, Debora Ann Beck of York, PA

A sister, Linda Lou Miller of Delta, PA

A brother, Paul Everett Linkous, Jr., also of Delta

Eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a step-son, Darwin Darrell Young on June 30, 2010.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 1, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA where the funeral will be held on Tuesday at 1 p.m.

Interment will be in Bel Air Memorial Gardens.
