Born and raised on the family owned Gumtree Farm, in Delta, PA, Dale would continue working there as a dedicated dairy farmer for most of his life. He was a son of the late Charles A. and Alice Gill (Cooper) Stewart, and his birthdate was June 22, 1928. Dale was a 1946 graduate of the former Delta High School.

A lifetime member of Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church, he served on the building committee, as a trustee and was active in many of the programs of the church. Dedicated to his community, Dale had served on the Delta Community Center Authority from its inception. He enjoyed vegetable gardening and was known for sharing his harvest with his neighbors.

He is survived by nieces, nephews and many loving friends.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his sister, Charlotte Ann Miller who died on October 19, 2011.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 7 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mt. Nebo U.M. Church, 962 Flintville Road, Delta, PA 17314 with interment in the adjoining church cemetery.

Visitation will be held on hour prior to the service at the church.
