Life Story for Larry E. Mays

Larry E.  Mays
LARRY E. MAYS, age 66 years, died on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 in his home in Darlington, Maryland. He was the husband of Betty M. (Hawkins) Mays with whom he had shared 44 years of marriage.

Born on November 30, 1946 in Havre de Grace, Maryland, he was a son of the late Harvey and Lillian (Beavers) Mays. Mr. Mays was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1965 – 67. He worked over 20 years as a drywall installer for Quality Drywall followed by his employment with Brooks Ramsey R.V. in White Marsh. Mr. Mays was an avid hunter and enjoyed the outdoors.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by:
Three children-
Teresa Griffith and her husband, George
Larry E. Mays, Jr. and his wife, Amber
Jaime Vera and her husband, Roy, all of Darlington, Maryland

Six grandchildren

A brother, Harvey M. Mays of Perryville, Maryland

A sister, Shirley Miller of Whiteford., Maryland

He was preceded in death by a brother, Owen David Mays and a sister, Deborah Keys.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA where a visitation will be held the evening prior to the service from 6 to 8 p.m.

Reverend Wendall Pell will officiate.

Interment will be in Dublin Missionary Cemetery, Darlington, Maryland with military honors presented by the U.S. Army Honor Guard of Andrews Air Force Base.

Pallbearers serving will be Gary Lennon, Bill Miller, Todd Miller, Blair Phillips, Mike Crouse and David Wheat.

In lieu of flowers, his family would appreciate memorial contributions to Seasons Hospice, 253 Lewis Lane, Ste. 303, Havre de Grace, MD 21078
