Life Story for Evelyn B. Haywood

Evelyn B.  Haywood
EVELYN B. HAYWOOD, age 93 years of Cardiff, MD, died on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Hart Heritage Estates in Street, MD. She was the wife of Bernard T. Haywood, and on April 9th they observed their 64th anniversary.

Born on February 6, 1920 in Gatchelville, PA, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Carrie (Perry) Bryson. Mrs. Haywood was a 1937 graduate of the former Slate Ridge High School and a lifetime member of the Delta United Methodist Church. Beginning her career at the Whiteford Post Office, she was employed with the United States Postal Service for 37 years when she retired as postmaster of the former Cardiff, MD location. Mrs. Haywood enjoyed cats and was devoted to her family.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by:
A son, Nuclear Cardiologist Thomas B. Haywood of Waldorf, MD

Four granddaughters and a great granddaughter

Graveside services with interment will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the Slate Ridge Cemetery, corner of Line and Griffith Roads, Delta, PA.

Reverend Judith L. Walker of the Bryansville/Delta United Methodist Charge will officiate.
