Life Story for William Allen Day

William Allen  Day
WILLIAM ALLEN DAY, age 83 years of Whiteford, MD, died on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air. MD. He was the husband of Renee (Elliott) Day with whom he would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this coming October 20th.

Born in York, PA, he was a son of the late Hugh A. and Eva M. (Founds) Day. Mr. Day was a U.S. Air Force Veteran serving from 1950–54. He was a member of Slate Ridge Presbyterian Church of Cardiff, MD and the Slate Ridge American Legion Post #182 of Whiteford, MD. He retired in 1985 from Aberdeen Proving Ground where he had served 38 years working as a civilian gunner. He enjoyed drawing portraits of his family, playing bingo and the lottery, and appreciated nature and the outdoors.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by:
Four children-
Allen R. Day and his wife, Debra of Abingdon, MD
William Craig Day of Baltimore, MD
Heather Jean Cochran and her husband, Ray R. Cochran of Delta, PA
Christopher M. Day and his wife, Dawn of York, PA

Four grandchildren, two great grandchildren in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 30th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA where the funeral service will be on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 11 a.m.

Pastor James Johnson of Dublin U.M.C. will officiate.

Interment will be in Highview Memorial Gardens, Fallston, MD with military honors presented by the United States Air Force Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, his family would appreciate memorial contributions to the American Legion Post #182, 2217 Whiteford Road, Whiteford, MD 21160.
