Life Story for Peter E. Witten

Peter E.  Witten
PETER E. WITTEN, age 75 years, died in his home in Delta, PA on June 3, 2013 surrounded by his family. Born on February 10, 1938 in Ohio City, Ohio, he was the son of the late Roy M. and Maxine (Dibert) Witten.

After serving in the U.S. Army for 2 years, he settled in the State of Maryland. Mr. Witten had worked as a Quality Control Technician for American Cyanamid in Havre de Grace, MD, now known as Cytec, retiring in 1999 after 30 years of service. In retirement, Mr. Witten had also worked at the Saubel’s Market in Whiteford, MD for several years and he and his wife had been the owners/operators of the former Jones & Witten Restaurant in Delta for 13 years. He was a member of the Delta United Methodist Church, enjoyed trips to Delaware Park and hiking with his children and grandchildren. Mr. Witten was a craftsman working with wood and crafts.

Mr. Witten is survived by:
His wife of 50 years, Bonnie J. (Moretz) Witten

Two daughters-
Judy Lentz and her husband, Kenny of Whiteford, MD
Debbie Kuhn and her husband, Keith of Pylesville, MD

A son, Leslie Jones and his wife, Kim of New Kingstown, PA

Two grandsons-
Tanner Jones of New Kingstown, PA
Scott Kuhn of Pylesville, MD

Two granddaughters-
Kristle Fullerton of Pylesville, MD
Stephanie Jones of Hackensack, New Jersey

Two brothers-
Donald Witten and his wife, Linda of Ohio City
Hugh Witten of Trip City, Ohio

Two sisters-
Phyllis Schroer and her husband, Paul of St. Henry Ohio
Dorothy Beck and her husband, John of Grand Ledge, MI

Several loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2013 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA where the funeral service will be held on Friday at 11a.m.

Interment will be in Darlington Cemetery, Darlington, MD.

Pallbearers will be John Moretz, Brian Moretz, Keith Kuhn, Kenny Lentz, Scott Kuhn and Tanner Jones.

Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Moretz, Ricky Jordan, Stephanie Jones and Kristle Fullerton.
