Life Story for Frances Lorraine "Dee Dee" Moody

Frances Lorraine "Dee Dee"  Moody
LORRAINE MOODY, AKA DEE DEE, age 82 years, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2013 at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Born in Harford County, MD on October 28, 1930, she was a daughter of the late John and Alice (Wallis) Laye.

Graduating from the former Dublin High School in 1947, Lorraine worked 49 years for the former Bata Shoe Company until its closure, followed by 10 years of employment for the Monarch Manufacturing Company. Lorraine was a member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church in Bel Air, MD and was active in the Oak Grove “Young at Heart” and the Bel Air Senior Center. Lorraine had a great appreciation for gospel and country music and enjoyed going to the “The Barn” on Friday nights to listen to live music. She cherished spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by:
Three children-
Richard Combs of Edgewood, MD
Darlene Edwards and her husband, Lee of Bel Air, MD
Ronnie Combs and his wife, Rose of Aberdeen, MD

Five grandchildren-
Mark Martindale of Churchville, MD
Chris Edwards and his wife, Sarah of Darlington, MD
Melissa Schafer and her husband, Chris of Abingdon, MD
Jen Cocca of Baltimore, MD
Cassandra (Niki) Combs of Newark, DE

Five great grandchildren-
Addison, Lila and Ace Edwards
Christopher and Abigail Schafer

A brother, Bob Laye and his wife, Erma of Forest Hill, MD

She was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Snapp.

Visitations will be held at Bel Air Church of the Nazarene, 2430 Conowingo Road, Bel Air, MD on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, the 12th at 11 a.m. at the church.

Interment will be in Bel Air Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, her family would appreciate memorial contributions to Mt. Tabor U.M.C., 2350 Conowingo Road, Bel Air, 21015.
