Life Story for Richard "Dick" Carl Schneider

Richard "Dick" Carl Schneider
Richard Carl “Dick” Schneider, age 67 years of New Park, PA passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 after a lengthy illness. He was the loving husband of Barbara J. (Bobby Jo) Morris Schneider to whom he was married for 43 years.

Dick was born in Ridley Park, PA on June 17, 1946 a son of the late Carl L. and Evelyn (Simmons) Schneider. He grew up in the area of Friedensburg, PA and graduated from Blue Mountain High School, class of 1964. Dick attended Penn State University (1964-1967). In 2003 he retired from Facchina Construction Co. after completing a project at BWI Airport. No matter what Dick’s titled position, he always gave “an honest day’s work for an honest day’s pay”. He was an honorable man who took great pride in whatever job he was doing.

Throughout his life Dick pursued many interest/hobbies. As a boy, he was a trapper and hunter. He enjoyed deep sea fishing. He was active in sports and played softball for his church’s team years ago. After moving to New Park, PA he became a member of Muddy Creek/Forks Historical Railroad Association and was a train conductor at the site for a period of time. He actively supported the Mason-Dixon Food Locker program for the past 25 years.

Maria A. and Noa A. Schneider of Delta, PA

Sister-in-Law, Linda J. (Morris) Miller of Maryville, TN
