ALICE AMOS WEBSTER, age 99 years, died on Monday, August 12, 2013 in her home in Street, MD. She was the wife of J. Walter Webster, Sr. who died in 1985.
Born on November 23, 1913 in Street, MD, she was a daughter of the late James R. and Anna (Torbert) Amos. A 1931 graduate from the former Highland High School, Mrs. Webster had worked as a hairdresser followed by a full time homemaker, wife and mother. She was a long time member of Emory United Methodist Church where she had led the church choir, served as kitchen chairperson for many fried chicken suppers, held many offices in the church and was a past officer in the United Methodist Women. Mrs. Webster was a member of the Highland High School Alumni Assoc. and the local Grange.

John W. Webster, Jr., and his wife, Carol of Denton, MD
Mary Anne Hutchins and her husband, Roy of Street, MD
Jeanie Tilley and her husband, Rick of Street, MD
Five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Webster; brother, C. Nelson Amos; sisters – Sue A. Price, Mildred A. Kurtz, Hilda A. Burkins, Elinore A. Thomson and grandson, Robert Amos Hutchins.
Visitations will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2013 from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Emory United Methodist Church, 911 Cherry Hill Road, Street, MD where the funeral service will be held on Friday, the 16th at 11 a.m.
Reverend Thomas Starnes, Reverend Dr. Paul Benjamin and Reverend Brian Shockey will officiate with interment in the adjoining church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mark Webster, Michael Webster, Marty Webster, James Hutchins, Jackie Tarbert, Steve Tarbert and Andrew Hutchins.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Matthew Tarbert, Laura Tarbert, Hanna Webster, Elena Webster, Samantha Webster, Kendall Webster, Cory Crabtree, James Amos, Tommy Thomson and James Jourdan.
