Obituary for A. Barbara Owad (Clymer)

A. Barbara  Owad (Clymer)
A. BARBARA OWAD, age 85 years of Airville, PA died on Sunday, September 1, 2013 at Homestead Village in Lancaster, PA. She was the wife of John A. Owad. They observed their 66th wedding anniversary on May 18.

Mrs. Owad was born on April 24, 1928 in Coatesville, PA, a daughter of the late James Harrison Benner and Anna Barbara (Seeh) Clymer. She grew up in Chatham, NJ and graduated from Sparrows Point High School in 1946. She attended the Peabody Conservatory and studied piano.
In 1979, she was elected Tax Collector for Fawn Township and served for over 30 years. Mrs. Owad was also appointed Fawn Grove Borough Tax Collector for 2008 and 2009. She enjoyed reading, cooking and collecting antiques. She was a member of Rainbow Chapter #517, Order of the Eastern Star, Red Lion.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children:
Barbara Hornung of Bradford, PA
Linda Davis of Boca Raton, FL
John A. Owad, Jr. of Mt. Wolf, PA
Connie Weinhold of Lancaster, PA

Also survived by four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, James Clymer, Jr. and Edward W. Clymer

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 5 at 11:00 a.m at the Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA. Reverend James Baldwin of Woodbine Believers Assembly will officiate.
Interment will be in Chanceford Cemetery, Airville.

The visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m.
