Obituary for Kenneth Nelson Merryman

Kenneth Nelson  Merryman
KENNETH NELSON MERRYMAN, age 70 years, of West Chester, PA died at his home on Monday, June 30, 2014.

Ken was born in Baltimore, MD on June 25, 1944 a son of the late W. Edgar and Margaret (Wilson) Merryman. He attended American University in Washington, D.C. and graduated from St. Edward’s University in Austin, TX with a degree in history. After graduation, Ken was a VISTA volunteer and also served as a lay minister at his home church, Fawn United Methodist and other community churches. He was also an accomplished musician. In addition, he was a gourmet chef and maître de at several country clubs and upscale restaurants. Subsequently, he became Chester County, Pennsylvania’s well-known Stovepiper, the owner of a successful chimney sweep business. Ken also had a love for good food, theater, international travel and his nieces and nephews.

He is survived by two brothers:
Rev. William E. Merryman and his wife Lucy of Staten Island, NY
Dr. Donald W. Merryman and his wife Joy of Whiteford, MD
Also numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be private.
