Life Story for Raymond H. Bertier

Raymond H.  Bertier
RAYMOND H. BERTIER, age 87 years of Street, MD, died at Top of the Hill Manor in Street, on Thursday, July 3, 2014. He was the husband of Anna Fern (Sampson) Bertier.

Born on October 26, 1926 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Raymond Willis Bertier and Myrtle Virginia Hobson and a US Navy veteran serving in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater from 1944 thru 1947 . Mr. Bertier had worked as a plumber for Western Electric Company for 43 years, retiring in 1984. He enjoyed riding horses and was a member of the Chesapeake Trail Riders and the League of Maryland Horsemen. He was a member of Emory United Methodist Church in Street, MD.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by:
Three children-
Raymond W. Bertier and his wife, Betty of Street, MD
James S. Bertier and his wife, Patty of Key West, FL
Karen Billings and her husband, Bryan of Street, MD

Five grandchildren-
Richard Bertier, Kerry Gizinski, Katey Bertier, Kelsey Billings and Brooks Billings

Four great grandchildren-
Adam Bertier, Shelby Gizinski, Logan Bertier and Brett Gizinski

He was preceded in death by a brother, Harry William Bertier and a nephew, Gerry Bertier.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 beginning at 11 a.m. at Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, 1510 Deep Run Road, Whiteford, MD 21160 with Revered Arthur F. Justice, church pastor, officiating.

The Bertier Family will receive friends at a reception in the church social hall immediately following the service with a time of reflection and refreshments.

In lieu of flowers, his family would appreciate memorial contributions to the church at the above address.
