Life Story for Frank E. Rockey

Frank E.  Rockey
FRANK E. ROCKEY, 81 years of Rising Sun, MD, formerly of Darlington, MD, died on Thursday, August 13, 2015 in the home of granddaughter. He was the husband of Mildred Marie (Taylor) Rockey who passed away on August 18, 2008. At the time of her death, they had shared over 51 years of marriage.

Born on June 14, 1934 in Street, MD, he was a son of the late Eugene F. and Alice V. (Moston) Rockey. A longtime resident of Harford County, he was a member of the Reformation Bible Church, since 1960. Retiring in 1999, Mr. Rockey had worked as an bookkeeper for Price Brothers in Perryman, MD in addition to working for 55 years as a switchboard operator with Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace, MD until 2014. After the passing of his wife, he moved to Cecil County to be with his granddaughter, Tammy and her family, and attended Maranatha Baptist Church in Elkton.

He is survived by:
A brother, George Rockey of Street, MD

Two sisters-
Grace Kennedy of Forest Hill, MD
Betty Young of Greenville, SC

A granddaughter, Tammy Nichols and her husband, Marvin

Two great grandchildren-
Tyler Dale Nichols and Mackenzie Marie Nichols

He was preceded in death in 1987 by a stepson, Billy Joe Taylor.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 17, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA where the funeral service will begin on 11 a.m. on Tuesday.

His minister, Reverend Dr. John E. McKnight will officiate with interment in Slate Ridge Cemetery, Delta, PA.

In lieu of flowers, his family would appreciate memorial contributions to Prostate Cancer Foundation, 1250 Fourth Street, Santa Monica, CA 90401
