Life Story for Raymond D. Cox
RAYMOND D. COX, 91 years of Jarrettsville, MD, died on Friday, September 18, 2015 at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. He was the husband of Evelyn (Irwin) Cox with whom he had shared 62 years of marriage.
A son of the late Clay Greer and Nellie E. (Phipps) Cox, he was born on November 14, 1923 in the Sharon area of Harford County, MD. Mr. Cox had worked as a self-employed heavy equipment operator for many years known as Cox Excavating Company. He also farmed 80 acres where he raised cattle and crops.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by:
Two daughters-
Donna Ray Morrison and her husband, Roger of Jarrettsville, MD
R. Diane Bielecki and her husband, David, also of Jarrettsville
Three brothers, all of Harford County
Herbert B. Cox, Carroll L. Cox and William B. Cox
A granddaughter, Katie Bielecki Bedell of Chestertown, MD
A grandson, Daniel Bielecki of Jarrettsville, MD
He was preceded in death by his brothers-
Robert S. Cox, Leonard F. Cox, Ronald C. Cox and John R. Cox
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. at William Watters United Methodist Church, 1452 Jarrettsville Road, Jarrettsville, MD 21084 where the memorial service will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday.
The final resting place will be private.
In lieu of flowers, his family would appreciate memorial contributions to the church at the above address.
