I didn't know John until the last few years, where I met him while working with my dad.  He came to be a good family friend.  He showed how much he cared when he would always ask dad how my sister and I were doing and wanting updates on our lives, especially when I was living overseas teaching, since he connected with that.  Even though his last few years had to be hard, he always found a way to smile and I will miss getting to talk to him!  He was very special to our family!
