Obituary for Matilda DeVoe Zeller

Matilda DeVoe  Zeller
MATILDA DEVOE ZELLER, 95, of Baltimore and formerly of Pylesviile, MD died Monday, December 26, 2016 at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She was the last surviving child of Amos and Mary (Whiteford) DeVoe and the widow of James J. Zeller, Sr who passed away in 1974.

Matilda attended the former Last Chance School in Pylesville and was a 1939 graduate of the former Highland High School in Street, MD. A graduate of Salisbury Normal School, she pursued a career as a teacher in elementary education and arranged Rainbow Club activities, a recreational program for children with special needs.

Matilda is survived by:
Three children-
James Zeller, Jr. and his wife, Mary Ann
Patricia Ann Smith
Michael David Zeller

Two grandchildren-
Amanda Zeller
James Zeller, III and his wife, Megan

Two great grandchildren-
Hannah Zeller
Jack Zeller.

Visitations will be held Friday, December 30, 2016 from 3 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 7:30 p.m. in Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main St. Delta, PA where a memorial service will begin at 7:30pm. Pastor Donald Beutal will officiate. A private interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Bel Air Memorial Gardens.

In addition to the funeral service there will be a memorial mass on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Matthew Catholic Church, 5401 Loch Raven Blvd, Baltimore, MD 21239.

In Lieu of flowers, her family requests memorial contributions be made to the school which her grandchildren graduated and her great grandchildren attend - St. Johns the Evangelist School Long Green Valley, 13311 Long Green Pike, Hydes, MD 21082.
