Life Story for Harold F. Belcher

Harold F.  Belcher
HAROLD F. BELCHER, 73 years of Darlington, MD, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2016 at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Hospital. Married on November 22, 1961, he was the husband of Phyllis J. (Clutter) Belcher with whom he had shared 54 years of marriage.

Born on May 26, 1943 in Honaker, VA, he was a son of the late Thomas and Mabel (Hess) Belcher. Harold’s family had moved to Maryland where he was a 1961 graduate of North Harford High School in Pylesville, MD. Retiring in 1999, he had worked as a Production Manager for General Motors. Harold loved his classic “1937” Plymouth pickup, crabbing and breakfast each month with his GM retiree friends.

Faith in God was very important to Harold, and he served as a deacon for over 40 years at Trinity Free Will Baptist Church where he had been a dedicated member for many years. Harold also enjoyed teaching the Adult Sunday School class.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by:
Four children-
Allen Belcher and Ashley Stone of Darlington, MD
Mary Felts and her husband, Chris of Fawn Grove, PA
Shelly Deaner and her husband, Rodney of Colora, MD
DeAnna Preston of Bel Air, MD

Two sisters-
Lucy Boyd of Fawn Grove, PA
Valerie Adkins of Darlington, MD

A brother, Melvin Belcher of Elkton, MD

Seven grandchildren- Chelsie Deaner, Amber Belcher, Austin Preston, Stone Felts, Camryn Preston, Steele Felts and Gabriel Belcher.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lori Ann Belcher in 1963; two sisters, Mary Sexton and Lilly Blackburn.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Trinity Free Will Baptist Church, 3414 Cedar Church Road, Darlington, MD 21034 where the funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday.

His minister, Pastor Mark A. Rudd will officiate with interment in Bel Air Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers are his grandsons; Austin Preston, Stone Felts and Steele Felts, and his nephews; Fred Sexton, Kenny Sexton, David Blackburn and Tommy Adkins.

In lieu of flowers, his family would appreciate memorial contributions to his church at the above address.
