He returned from Japan and was honorably discharged on June 17, 1947. When the United States declared war on Korea, men who had served less than 12 months were redrafted. With the 13 month length of service as a WWII Veteran, he was excused.

During his retirement, Mr. Walker served as a volunteer for ESOL (English Speakers of Foreign Languages), Driving for Cancer, Meals on Wheels and Harford Hospice. He had been a member of Dublin United Methodist Church since the mid 1960’s.

Mr. Walker is survived by his loving cousins and friends. He will long be remembered for driving his white 1952 MGTD that he had for 50 years and his flamboyant style and sense of humor.
