Life Story for Isabell Marie Sumner

Isabell Marie  Sumner
ISABELL MARIE SUMNER, 83 years, of Street, MD died on Monday, July 23, 2012 at Stella Maris Hospice in Timonium, MD. She was the wife of Everett L. Sumner, Sr., with whom she had shared 66 years of marriage.

Born on October 9, 1928 in Hot Springs, Bath County, VA, she was a daughter of the late George Raymond and Virgie Elizabeth (Pritt) Thomas. Mrs. Sumner had worked for the former Bata Shoe Company and as a waitress for the former Regal Restaurant in Bel Air, MD

In 1967, Mrs. Sumner moved to the Quad City area of Illinois where she was active in community affairs, operated the Little League concession stand, led Cub Scout Pack #147 and taught Sunday School at Green Rock Southern Baptist Church in Green Rock. Mrs. Sumner was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter #626 in Silvis.

She and her husband returned to Maryland in 1999 where she was a homemaker, enjoying crocheting and bird watching.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by:
Four children-
Nancy Hood and her husband, Ralph of Milan, IL
Robert H. Sumner and his wife, Linda of Street, MD
June Mundis and her husband, Donald of Conowingo, MD
Everett Sumner Jr., and his wife, Ida of Street, MD

Three grandchildren-
Jackie Galluzzo and her husband, Ben of Pylesville, MD
Ryan Sumner and his wife, Lisa of Silvis, IL
Jessica Carothers and her husband, Rob of Milan, IL

Four great grandchildren-
MaKenna Carothers, Ryder Carothers, Daniel Sumner and Ryli Sumner

Three step grandchildren-Richard, Teresa and Donna

Four step-great grandchildren- Shawn, Anthony, Ellie and Megan

She was preceded in death by a son, William Sumner in 1981 and a grandson, James M. Vaughn on July 15, 1997.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA.

A second visitation will be held on Sunday, July 29, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Schroder Mortuary, 213 1st Avenue, Colona, IL. with a service by at 7:30 p.m. by the Order of Eastern Star Chapter #626.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 30, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Greenview Memorial Gardens, 1201 Avenue of the Cities, East Moline, IL with Pastor Sam Henderson of the Green Rock Free Will Baptist Church presiding.
