Green Beans

What a massive Garden Grandma and Grandpa would have!!! I remember snapping the tips off the fresh homegrown green beans from their garden in preparation for dinner. Grandma would have a large paper bag full of green beans and we would sit at her dining room table in Carbon Cliff and just snap the ends off the green beans. It was a little bit of work… but it never really seemed like work. Grandma would be right there beside us snapping away. Then she would make the Best cooked green beans with them when we were finished. I believe it was Southern style cooking; the green beans were great and there was either a lot of bacon and/or ham in there. June makes a very similar tasting green bean dish. Whenever June makes her green beans, it brings me back to my childhood. :) Love you Grandma! Jackie
