Thomas R. Dowell, age 68 years, of Peach Bottom, PA, died on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Lancaster General Hospital. He was the husband of Linda (Blackburn) Dowell, and they recently celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary.

Mr. Dowell was born on October 24, 1944 in Sparta, NC a son of the late Velter and Vinnie (Jones) Dowell. Prior to his retirement, he had worked as a fork lift operator for many years at the Constar International - Clark Road Facility in Havre de Grace, MD. Mr. Dowell loved spending time with his grandchildren and his friends. He played the dobro and enjoyed playing bluegrass gospel music.

In addition to his wife he is survived by
Three children- Rhonda Dowell of Peach Bottom, PA, Randall Dowell of Wilsey, Kansas and Thomas Dowell of Peach Bottom, PA.

Seven grandchildren- Joshua Rudd and his wife Amber, Kara Dowell, Ryan Dowell, Katelyn Rudd, Michaela Rudd, Shelby Dowell and Aiden Dowell

A great-grandson Tyler King Jr.

Two sisters- Dora Mae Kilby of Bel Air, MD and JoAnn Hall of Thurmond, NC

Four brothers- Hobert Dowell of Sparta, NC, Ivan Dowell of Darlington, MD, Eugene Dowell of Street, MD and Roger Dowell of Lincolnton, GA

He was preceded in death by his best friend Glen Elwood Beavers on December 13, 2012

A Memorial Service will be on Saturday, December 29th at 12 PM at Trinity Free Will Baptist Church, 3414 Cedar Church Road, Darlington, MD with Pastor Ricky Blackburn and Kent Dowell officiating.

A visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church.

Honorary pallbearers are Kenneth Christian, Willard Wilson and William Stike.
