The Younger Days
I remember "the younger days" when I was a young teenager; Guy was about 17, shoulder length hair, and very tall compared to me. He would show up at my house to "jam" or hang out with my brother Johnny in his bedroom....always a smile, kind words, and very respectful.
I always thought, "what a nice guy"! Those were the days of "hard rock and roll". Later, I found out he still played and loved his music, only now it was "christian music"...and thought, "HOW GREAT IS THAT"!!....and when Guy and his wife showed up at our family reunion, I realized right away, he had never changed in all those years, except for one very important thing....his obvious growing love of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!!....which I was so glad to see....PRAISE GOD!!. I was so blessed to see Guy again at a rehab, during his illness, and was so inspired by his kind spirit and love to others at such a trying time in his life.
May I also say it has been a pleasure to meet and come to know his loving and devoted family. They, too, have demonstrated such a love and commitment that is inspiring as well.
I was glad I was able to be there with a camera on-hand to help build memories of their Christmas to look back on and I know they will cherish them even more now.
I am so blessed that God planned for our paths to meet then and now...
rest in peace friend, rest in peace....
