Life Story for Elmira P. "Babe" Lovelidge

Elmira P. "Babe"  Lovelidge
ELMIRA P. “Babe” LOVELIDGE, age 87 years, died peacefully in her home on Saturday, August 10, 2013 in Delta, Pennsylvania and was born on December 31, 1925. She was the wife of Ralph Singley Lovelidge for 53 years at the time of his death on January 28, 1999.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late George Everett and Grace Vanetta (Clark) Pierce and a graduate of John Bartram High School. Mrs. Lovelidge had also lived in Upper Darby and Aldan before moving to Delta over 9 years ago. She was an avid reader, enjoying crochet, knitting, crossword puzzles and was known to have a wonderful sense of humor.

She is survived by:
Three children-
Ralph S. Lovelidge, III and his wife, Melody of Hummelstown, Pennsylvania
Deborah L. Phipps and her husband, William of Cochranville, Pennsylvania
Jeffrey P. Lovelidge of Delta, Pennsylvania

A sister, Dorothy Stanton of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Eight grandchildren-
Ralph S. Lovelidge, IV and his wife, Debbie
Tara Knowlton and her husband, Marc
Brett Lovelidge and his wife, Regina
Jason Phipps and his wife, Kara
Andrew Phipps and his wife, Jenny
Ellen Lovelidge
Jane Lovelidge
Roger Lovelidge

Fifteen great grandchildren with many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her siblings-
Miriam Irvine, William Pierce and Alma Pierce.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 16th from 4 to 6 p.m. at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA.

Graveside services with interment will be held on Monday, the 19th at 11 a.m. at Ivy Hill Cemetery, 1201 Easton Road, Philadelphia, PA with Reverend James B. Shuler of Pine Grove Presbyterian Church officiating.

In lieu of flowers, her family would appreciate memorial contributions to the York County Veterans Honor Guard, John Vecero, 670 Hammond Rd, York PA 17406
