Memories of Walt

I was 19 years old when I met Walt. I  took a one way trip to Califonia from Kentucky. I got a job where David was working. David and I started talking and found we had alot  in common. I had only worked there for a few days and had no place to stay. David said he would ask his Dad if I could stay there for awhile until I could get on my feet again. David got me a room at a motel until he could talk to his Dad about me. The next day Dave picked me up to meet his Dad (Walt). We got to talking and he asked me a few questions and said I could stay. He never gave me a time limit or any rules. Dave and I rode to work together for awhile, until I saved up some money to get a car. Wat took Dave and I out t look at cars and we saw a 1974 Pontiac station wagon. The car looked good andthe price was right. The salesman came out and told us about the car. The engine had a knock in it but still ran. That did not bother Walt, he said at that price we culd put a used engine in it. The salesman said today only we culd have te car, tax, and title for $400.00. That was great, but all I had was $250.00. Walt talked tote salesman and they cae back and he told me to give him te $250.00 now an bring $150.00 back in two weeks. I don't know what Walt had said to  salesman, but I had a car. I never tought tat someone would put that much trust in me and not know tat much about me. Wat showed me a whole a new side of life. If it wasn't fr Dave and Walt, I don't know where I would be righ now. I will never meet anyone like them. Thank you David and Thanks Walt for all you did for me! I will never forget you!
