Life Story for Kristina J. Wadia

Kristina J. Wadia
Kristina J. (Miller) Wadia, 40 years of Baltimore, MD passed away Saturday, April 30, 2016 in her home surrounded by her family after a long courageous fight with cancer. Kristina met the love of her life, Mark Wadia, in California and they were married June 4, 2005.

Kriss was born on August 12, 1975 in Baltimore, MD, a daughter of Betty (Wise) Hoover and Bill Hoover, and the late Timothy N. Miller. She was the granddaughter of the late Ralph and Ethel Wise, lifelong residents of Delta, PA. Kriss graduated with cum laude honors from West Chester University with a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts. Her career became a passion with the National Federation of the Blind where she was the Executive Secretary to the President; she was committed to the NFB mission. Her journalized battle with a cancerous brain tumor she named ‘Lloyd’, was an inspiration to all who followed her. Kriss had a great sense of humor and was profoundly honest. She was a silversmith who created jewelry commercially and for her family and friends. She loved nature and was fascinated with wildlife whether it was bird watching in her back yard, hunting for crawfish in local streams, or snorkeling in the South Pacific. Kriss was also fascinated with her family's genealogy and local history.

Kriss is survived by her sister, Kelly Grant, wife of Jason; two nephews, Nathan Grant and Andrew Grant and nephew Jonathan Fascetti and niece Ava Fascetti.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016 from 1 – 1:30 p.m. at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA. The Memorial Service will begin at 1:30 p.m. officiated by Marie L. Sipler, Certified Celebrant. Refreshments will be available after the service at the DP Lounge.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations are made to the National Federation Of The Blind. Donations can be made online at www.nfb.org in memory of Kriss.
