Eugene L.  Jackman
EUGENE L. JACKMAN, 78 years of Airville, PA, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 in his home. He was the husband of Mary A. “Molly” (McCracken) Jackman with whom he has shared 24 years of marriage. Born on March 27, 1938 in Greenfield, MA, he was a son of the late Charles Jackman and Lois A. (Cromack) Trow.

Gene enjoyed life beginning with a childhood with his brothers on their Massachusetts farm. As a young child, he was involved in his church. Every Sunday morning he vacuumed the floors and rang the church bell before the service began. He was also a Boy Scout. After high school graduation, he served our country in the Navy from 1957 to 1976 on a nuclear submarine. During his career as Chief Petty Officer he spent time on the USS Angler 240 SSK, the USS Scorpion SSN 589, the T Roosevelt SSBN 600, the USS James K. Polk SSBN 645, the USS Nautilus SSN 571, and the USS Sam Rayburn SSBN 638. Following his career service, Gene worked for PECO Power Company for 25 years.

Gene loved serving others as a member of Calvary Chapel Church in Delta, PA, at Chanceford Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder for 8 years, and with the Lions Club of Mason Dixon. Gene also enjoyed being a member of the Ford Model A Club.

Gene loved and enjoyed his family and friends so much, also his church, canoeing, hiking, woodworking, Model A Ford rebuilding, and building his home. His deep love and sincere care for others is how he will be remembered.

Dave Jackman and his wife, Connie of Conway, MA
Francis Trow, Jr. of Buckland, MA

Eight grandchildren-
Tyler McGrath, Diller McGrath, Daisy Jackman, Samuel Jackman, Matthew Gilbert, Elijah Jackman, Reese Ashcroft and Elliana Jackman.

Services will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Calvary Chapel of Delta, 5911 Delta Road, Delta, PA with a visitation from 2 to 3 p.m. followed immediately with the funeral service. Pastor Doug McClean will officiate with a luncheon following the service. Interment will be private.
