Message: Roger Akers was a friend, shipmate and a brother to me. We knew each other for over 13 years. I worked side by side with him at The Marywood Retreat Center, St Johns County, Fl as Chef's in the Marywood Kitchen. Roger was always there for support. Both ROger and I also retired from the greatest Navy in the world, The United States Navy. We depended on each other and laughed more than worked. For those of you that knew Roger and those that didn't, he was the kindest person I will ever know and am eternally grateful for the time I had with him. I will miss him dearly, but when I think of Roger, it will put a smile on my face.
