My deepest love, respect and condolences to Roger's friends and family members. I had 8 wonderful years volunteering for Roger out at Marywood.
I am a better person for those times spent with him. Thank you Roger,
rest in peace.
Roger we know that you are in a better place, smiling down at us from above. We will miss you at Marywood and I know your memory will live on at Marywood.
Roger was a close friend of 15 years. He was one of the kindest person I have had the pleasure to know. If you needed a laugh Roger usually provided one. Always with a witty comment and a smile, he will be sorely missed. God bless you Roger and rest in peace.
Bill, I'm so sorry for the loss of your brother. Having just lost my Dad, I well know the empty space that's left. May God comfort your heart at this difficult time, & remember that Roger is now rejoicing with our heavenly Father!
Roger Akers was a friend, shipmate and a brother to me. We knew each other for over 13 years. I worked side by side with him at The Marywood Retreat Center, St Johns County, Fl as Chef's in the Marywood Kitchen. Roger was always there for support. Both ROger and I also retired from the greatest Navy in the world, The United States Navy. We depended on each other and laughed more than worked. For those of you that knew Roger and those that didn't, he was the kindest person I will ever know and am eternally grateful for the time I had with him. I will miss him dearly, but when I think of Roger, it will put a smile on my face.
Brother after 69 years of running the race and fighting the battle of life, now nothing but rewards for a job well done for our country and love ones with whom you will be remember for ever.
LOVE YOU.
